World Challenge Update
Our Year 10 and 11 trekkers have been working very hard throughout Term 1 to prepare for their end of year World Challenge trek to Nepal.
Our Term 1 social event had our trekkers making a traditional Nepalese Lassi. We would like to thank the Food Tech faculty in assisting our students in making the wonderful smoothies. The night ended with a screening of Everest on the big screen in VSSEC.
The bake sale took place once again during the parent teacher conference day. The students worked hard and baked up some amazing treats for the visiting parents and guardians. All funds raised from the bake sale will be going towards the community project in Nepal.
On Sunday the 21st of April, we all met at the steps of Flinders Street Station to make our way towards the 1000 Steps – Kokoda Memorial Walk. The walk turned out to be an amazing team bonding activity as everyone worked together in making their way to the top.
Up next on the World Challenge calendar is the weekend training expedition to Daylesford. The training expedition will be a good experience for the students in becoming familiar with the different trekking and camping conditions. Students will also be meeting and working with their World Challenge leader for Nepal in this training expedition.
