Work Experience
Work experience is part of the schools’ educational program where students experience the world of work. It is a short-term placement of students with employers, to provide insights into the industry, and the workplace in which they are located.
Students undertake placements with employers primarily to observe and learn – not to undertake activities which require extensive training or expertise. Work Experience has enormous benefits for students. All Year 10 students are expected to undertake a Work Experience placement as part of their educational program at Strathmore Secondary College. This placement must occur during a set week which is publicised to students and families well in advance. More details can be obtained by contacting the College’s Careers and Pathways Office. Students in Year 11 or 12 are also able to undertake placements. This is optional and students need to speak to one of the College’s Careers Advisors for details dates and requirements. |
