VETiS (Vocational Education Training in Schools) courses provide additional breadth to the VCE. They give students a nationally recognised training credential endorsed by industry. These programs are completed over 2 years (Years 10 and 11) and provide a qualification or partial completion of a Certificate II or III. VET programs can contribute to the VCE and most contribute towards a study score that counts towards a student’s Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
At Strathmore Secondary College, a maximum of one VET subject may be taken as part of a student’s course and no VET subjects may be taken as part of a Year 12 course. VET subject offerings are restricted to only those offered by particular providers. Please see one of the College’s Careers Advisors for details regarding VET.
