I am pleased to be able to report that Strathmore Secondary College is up and running, having achieved a smooth opening to 2018. There exists a sense of expectation, as well as an awareness of the challenge to which we must all respond.  We are fortunate in being able to reflect with satisfaction on our achievements to date.

Year 12 results last year reflected the diligence and dedication of our staff, the determination of our students and the support of their families and friends. 20 of our students obtained an ATAR of over 90, placing them in the top 10% of the state, and 38% were placed in the top 20%, with scores of over 80.

First round tertiary offers have been received by 92% of those who wish to continue with their studies, a figure which will rise as further rounds continue. Most students whose talents led them in non-tertiary directions were also satisfied.

The Strathmore Secondary College ethos stresses the qualities of Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence, which are evidenced in both its academic and personal goals. These encapsulate our expressed goal of developing well-rounded, high-achieving and caring young people.

 I believe that, as we work together throughout 2018, these high ideals can be fostered and sustained.  I wish all students, staff and families the very best for the coming year.
