Year 12 Ensemble Performance
The Year 12 Drama students have collaborated for the last few months to create their own ensemble performances. The students, in 3 groups, used the stimulus material of the documentary ‘Fed Up,’ which examines the downfalls of the food industry in America, to inspire their performances. The students were required to use the non-naturalistic theatre style of ‘Epic Theatre’ to explore the different points of view of those involved in the food industry in Australia, the way in which food trends, culture, body image and fad diets effect Australians and how media can manipulate an audience.
The performances, which took place in the Drama room, drew quite a crowd and were both informative and entertaining. The students were able to use song, chanting and actors playing different roles, to both make the audience laugh, and to communicate a meaningful message.
The stars of the show: Joel Booker, Jordan Di Natale, Adam Helou, Emma Jones, Amelia Leach, Mie Lyche, Steph McMullen, Aaron Parthimos, Llewellyn Powell, Jack Robertshawe, Sevi Tseros and April Whitmore.
