Year 11 Chaplaincy Wellbeing Ball
In swirls of chiffon and white satin, contrasting with black dinner suits and bow ties, students stepped out of their limos, for the first night of the Year 11 Ball. Melrose Melbourne offered an elegant setting for the big night ahead.
Excitement mounted as the time finally arrived for students to display their dance skills to an appreciative audience of family and friends. The weeks of preparation and dance lessons came to fruition. An added highlight of the night was the foot tapping cool tones of the College M1 Big Band, including fine improvised solos from each of the members. DJ and past student, Strafford Floate, wooed the guests onto the dance floor with his enticing choice of well-loved dance favourites.
Congratulations to the students and families for a very happy and enjoyable night.
Many thanks to the college staff who came along and assisted and to the Strathmore Chaplaincy Support Group who organised the event, led by Ball Coordinator and President, Carol Staton. This is the group’s major fundraiser to enable the college to employ our Chaplain, Denise Hiatt-Sietsma.
