Year 10 Japanese
On the 20th of July, the Year 10 Japanese class visited the Consulate-General of Japan and tried Japanese cuisine in the CBD.
The class was given a seminar on the cultural section of the Consulate-General. During the seminar, the class learnt about many different aspects of Japanese culture, including the Awa Dance Festival, cuisine, city life and fashion trends in Japan. There were some pretty outrageous trends like "Decora", which can be identified through layers of bright clothing, childish fashion and lots of hair accessories! Lara, Anna-Victoria and Callum were also lucky enough to try on some Yukata.
Afterwards, the class went to a new restaurant named "Yuza", where we ate bento and ice cream. Everyone thought it was really delicious.
Overall, the class had a fantastic day exploring Japanese culture and where it may lead them in the future.
Special thanks to Mrs White for organising the day and to the Consulate-General of Japan for having us.
