Theatre Studies Performance Evening
Year 10 and 11 Drama and Theatre Studies Performance Evening
On Wednesday 1st June, the Year 10 Theatre Studies class, Year 10 Contemporary Drama class and the Year 11 Drama class performed their work to an audience of their parents and peers.
The Year 10 Theatre Studies class performed a scripted play called “Dreams”. Leading up to the performance evening, the students not only worked on their acting skills but they also planned and devised stagecraft plans for the performance. They worked on areas including lighting, sound, publicity, props and costume.
The Year 10 Contemporary Drama class performed their ensembles based on the theme of freedom. Through a range on non-naturalistic devices, they presented what they thought freedom meant to them.
The Year 11 Drama class also presented ensembles. Their ensembles were based on the theme of Peace. They used this theme, as well as the hippie movement, the Vietnam war and the story of Jill Hicks to create these performances.
The Year 10 and 11 students performed very well and should be commended on all the hard work they did throughout term two leading up to this performance.
