OUR COLLEGE COMMUNITY

Strathmore believes local schools are the heart of all communities. Parents have the opportunity to become actively involved in the school, helping it to build and grow, through the College Council and Parents' Association. Together we form a supportive community motivated by a desire to learn and constantly improve. A Past Students' Network aims to maintain the connection to the wider environment and retain the long standing contribution many have made to the success of the school.

College Council

The College Council carries ultimate responsibility for setting the direction and ethos of Strathmore Secondary College. It decides on broad policy issues, establishes development priorities and oversees the structure of the College curriculum.

Each member of Council serves for a two year term before being eligible for re-election. Half of the members retire each year, hence the need for annual elections. Any parent of a child enrolled at the College is eligible to stand for election as a parent member of Council.

Parents' Association

The Parents' Association Planning Group meets once per term to discuss curriculum issues and to provide advice on other issues that affect the day to day running of the College.

The Parents' Association Planning Group also organises a number of parent evenings which aim to provide information to all parents on curriculum aspects of the College, such as student welfare services and demonstrations of programs run by the various faculties.

Past Students

Have you lost contact with your old Strathmore Secondary College school friends from years gone by? Do you ever wonder what your school peers are doing today? Perhaps there are some members of your class that your haven't seen for years.

Wonder no longer! The Strathmore Secondary College Past Students' Network is currently building a database of current past student details. This information will not be published, but we hope to use this data to create a social link for all past students and enable them to get together with old school friends.
