Bendigo Bank Defibrillator Donation
Strathmore Secondary College gains a Life Saving Device from Strathmore Bendigo Bank
We are delighted to announce that our school has just received an automated external defibrillator, a most crucial life saving device to add to our first aid, valued at $2,500.00, which has been generously donated by Bendigo Bank Strathmore.
Defibrillators assist with sudden cardiac arrest when the heart stops beating and can happen to people at any age and without warning. When it does happen, quick action in the form of early CPR and defibrillation can help save lives. A defibrillator is a machine used to give an electric shock to restart a patient’s heart when they are in cardiac arrest.
Having a defibrillator in our school will offer our students, staff and visitors a better chance of survival should a sudden cardiac arrest strike. No matter who is affected, being able to act quickly is crucial.
Staff members appointed as first aiders are already trained in the use of CPR; further training will now be given in the use an automated external defibrillator.
We would like to extend a warm thank you to the Bendigo Bank Strathmore for supporting our school community in obtaining this crucial life saving device.
