Our School › Principal's Welcome

When students begin at Strathmore they are welcomed into one of our College teams. The coordinators of each team foster the personal growth of students and liaise with parents to promote effective communication between home and school.

Year 11 and 12 students continue in a team structure and are encouraged to become more independent with their studies. The senior school strives for a healthy balance between social and academic opportunities and promotes the importance of student achievement.

Our team structure is particularly valuable in allowing coordinators to know students as individuals. It allows us to provide both academic and social support to our students. Teams are also integral to the College’s approach to student welfare. We believe that knowing our students and their families well helps us to identify and resolve issues quickly and in the most appropriate way.

Strathmore’s team structure promotes within students a strong sense of connection with the College. Our approach fosters greater personal contact and communication between the College, students and families.

Academically, the College is large enough to provide students with access to a rich and comprehensive range of studies.

Students in Years 7 to 9 follow a program designed to provide them with a strong general education whilst in Years 10 to 12 they choose individual programs from a wide range of studies.
Our focus on achievement and success, together with our emphasis on support and connection, provides students with every opportunity to proceed to a variety of post secondary school options.

Strathmore is proud of and maintains its traditions.  These include the College’s atmosphere of good conduct; the fact that students feel safe and supported within the College; our encouragement of achievement and the development within students of personal worth and identification with the College.

Strathmore’s ongoing success reflects the strong support of parents and the sustained commitment and involvement of staff.  It is our intention to maintain that support and commitment as we continue our work of providing an environment for young people where learning and individuals are valued.
