VICTORIAN CERTIFICATE OF APPLIED LEARNING (VCAL) INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
2004 saw the introduction of the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning at Strathmore Secondary College for students in Year 11. The Certificate gives students practical work-related experience as well as literacy, numeracy and personal development skills. Like the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), VCAL is a recognised state-wide qualification. Students who choose to undertake this Certificate are more likely to be interested in further study at TAFE, doing an apprenticeship or gaining employment straight out of secondary school. All participating VCAL students will get a certificate and a statement of results at the end of the year.
VCAL Requirements
To enrol in the VCAL program students must pass Year 10, as all students will be required to study VCE English.
