Year 7 Art
Students have been studying the work of Australian artist Howard Arkley, and have emulated his brightly coloured works. Mostly choosing their own suburban houses as the starting point, they painted the shapes in fluorescent, vivid colours, drawing distinct black outlines, then embellishing some of the painted areas with patterns. The students learnt about the relationship of colours to eachother, how to mix and apply paint successfully and the way something quite ordinary can be transformed into something really extraordinary.
Shape + Pattern+ Colour = ART!
